Dinner Eucharist for Ascension Day
Thursday, May 9, 2024, 7:00 PM
"Jesus ascended far above the heavens, that he might fill all things ..." (Ephesians 4:10)
Join us for a special combination of parish supper and the Holy Eucharist at 6:00 p.m. in Farlander Hall. We'll have music, festivities, and fun, and celebrate the Eucharist together at table in a special Dinner Church liturgy.
The Feast of the Ascension commemorates Jesus' farewell to his disciples, after his resurrection, when he ascended into heaven (Acts 1:1-14). It is always the fortieth day after Easter, which means it always falls on a Thursday. Ascension Day is one of the seven Principal Feasts of the church calendar (see p. 15 of the Prayer Book).
